I have a soft spot for Bendigo shiraz. I love its inky intensity and savour.Blackjack has made its 2005 Major's Line along these lines, and it is delicious.Dark-berry fruit flavours are unhindered by any overt oak influences, and it finishes dry, with some fine but firm tannin. A little extra time in the cellar will help it develop into a great Victorian shiraz.  Fergus McGhie The Canberra Times 5 December 2007 5 stars $$$$$

The 2005 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz takes out the Best Shiraz and The Best Red Wine at the 2007 Rutherglen Wine Show. After being awarded a gold medal in Class 233 (Vintage 2005 Dry Red, Shiraz), the wine went on to win the Plasdene Glass-Pak Pty Ltd Perpetual Trophy for best shiraz and the Seguin Moreau Special Award for best dry red of the show. |

 Deep and sweet earthy smelling, with pure vanilla and blackberry pip; excellent perfume. Lots of fleshy berries in the mouth, lush raspberries and mace-like spice. Succulent but also chewy tangy. Delicious.
